Ivo graduated with a degree in law from the University of Groningen. He founded MerkWerk in 2001. Ivo has extensive experience and can advise you on the international protection, monitoring and enforcement of trademarks, designs, trade names, domain names, copyright and other intellectual property rights. In addition, he can provide strategic input and advice on the (international) protection, creation and positioning of trademarks.

Certificiation trademark attorneys
The profession of trademark attorney is comparable to that of a patent attorney, chartered accountant or solicitor. Your trademark attorney handles confidential information and must possess sufficient knowledge of trademark law and the relevant case law. Being a trademark attorney is not a recognised profession. This means that people who lack sufficient knowledge or experience can still call themselves trade mark agents.
The BMM certified trademark attorney quality mark is a quality certification for trademark attorneys. This quality mark was established by the BMM (Benelux Association for Trade Mark and Design Law).
The BMM certified trademark attorney quality mark may only be used by BMM members with at least three years’ professional experience who have also passed the BMM professional examination. The BMM quality mark gives you the assurance that the trademark attorney possesses the necessary knowledge, training and experience to provide sound advice on the search, registration and enforcement of trademarks and designs.
